The 7-hour sunset

January 16, 2007

Well we survived our trip back to the States for the holidays. We started off with a 1.5 hour delay out of Dublin. The good side of the delay was that it had us taking off right into the setting sun, which we chased most of the way across the Atlantic, giving us a nearly 7-hour-long sunset to watch out the plane window.

We had good luck with the weather as the midwest was having unseasonably warm and snow-less weather. It was a disappointment not to see snow, but it did make for easier traveling.

To those of you we managed to see while we were home, it was good to see you. To those we missed, we’re sorry, the challenge of time and distance was more than we could completely overcome. Remember, the door is always open here in Ireland, we hope to see many of you on this side of the pond before we return home this summer!
